Start and finish, minus breaks
Worked time = finish − start − unpaid breaks. From 08:00 to 17:00 is 9 hours. After a 30-minute break, 8 hours 30 minutes remain. Calculations use whole minutes.
Add up to 31 shifts. Enter only unpaid minutes in the break field.
Pay = total worked minutes ÷ 60 × hourly rate. Tax and overtime or other premiums are excluded.

The break is drawn in the middle of each shift. Its width represents its duration, not its actual start time.

30 minutes is half an hour. So 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.50 hours, not 7.30 hours.
Worked time = finish − start − unpaid breaks. From 08:00 to 17:00 is 9 hours. After a 30-minute break, 8 hours 30 minutes remain. Calculations use whole minutes.
Enter up to 31 shifts. Five 8-hour shifts total 40 hours. This is the sum of your entries, not a contractual working-hours allowance.
From 22:00 to 06:00 the next day is 8 hours, or 7 hours 30 minutes after a 30-minute break. A shift can last up to 24 hours. Equal start and finish times with next day selected mean 24 hours.
The CSV contains shifts, breaks, worked minutes, hours and totals. For calculations, use decimal hours or divide minutes by 60. Totals are added before rounding.
| Minutes | Hours | Example with 7 hours |
|---|---|---|
| 15 min | 0.25 h | 7.25 h |
| 30 min | 0.50 h | 7.50 h |
| 45 min | 0.75 h | 7.75 h |
| 60 min | 1.00 h | 8.00 h |
Subtract the start time and unpaid breaks from the finish time. 08:00–17:00 minus a 30-minute break gives 8 hours 30 minutes, or 8.50 decimal hours.
Enter 22:00 and 06:00, for example, and select Finish the next day. The calculator counts 8 hours before breaks. No night-work premium is added.
Divide minutes by 60 and add the full hours. 7 hours 30 minutes = 7 + 30 ÷ 60 = 7.50 hours. The decimal number 7.30 instead means 7 hours 18 minutes.
